Today is Basant Panchami. Mata Saraswati is worshipped in the country. On this occasion I remember this wonderful song from the film Aalap, sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Jesudas, Dilraj Kaur, etc. and music composed by none other than Jaidev. Alaap is a 1977 Indian film produced by Hrishikesh Mukerjee and N.C Sippy and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Asrani, Farida Jalal, Om Prakash and A. K. Hangal. The music is composed by none other than Jaidev.
