Incidentally OP saab is my most favourite music director. When asked who was his favourite music director, Rafi saab is said to have commented : "Yoon to hamne lakh music director dekhen hai, OP Nayyar saab jaise nahin dekha". That is the greatness of OP Nayyar who never compromised on what he believed. He was the only music director who did not compose any song with the singing maharani of India Lata Mangeshkar.

a very desciplened , stubborn musicial . he didn't mind parting ways with even the most establshed singers . he never compromised . its told that once some musucians failed to arrrive in time , but but instead of rescheduling the recording he recorded with those availabe ......and the result was fabulous.....aapke haseen rukh pe aaj nayaa noor hai .....from bahaare phir bhee aayengee !!!!
ReplyDeleteno doubt he is the most melodious music director and he used Asha Bhosle's voice with legendary singer Mohd Rafi sahab wonderfully.....All those songs are still live today....Gr8 tribute.
